Darkroom Session - 10th Nov '09

DARKROOM SESSION NO 1



Equipment:-



  • product table

  • continuous lighting (approx 250watt underneath product table)

  • soft box

  • cover used to stop light escaping causing lens flare

  • 7ft studio stand

  • manfrotto tripod head

  • monorail camera- cambo 4x5in

the camera is a direct view camera and work by allowing the light to travel straight through it. the camera has a lense plane and film plane with bellows inbetween which allow it to be extended or contracted for close up or distance photography.


The lens operates in full stops and the shutter speed must be set off, leaf shutter set lense to fully open. light meter is set to continuous reading at f8.6, 1/2 sec, ISO 80.


There are two types of film that can be used Ortho Chromatic which is sensitive to all colours except red and Pan Chromatic which is sensitive to all colours, where using Ilford's Ortho Chromatic film.

(i have now attended all of John's darkroom sessions and will be adding notes along with images of the negitives and photos i created during this time)
